Alerts · While the dispute is forming
Act before the chargeback lands.
Get an early warning when a customer dispute is forming. Refund, resolve, or escalate in the window before it becomes a finalized chargeback. Part of Redo Chargebacks.
How Alerts works
An early-warning layer for the disputes that have not landed yet.
A finalized chargeback brings fees, ratio impact, and representment work. Alerts are about acting before any of that hardens.
Catch disputes while they are still forming.
Get notified when a customer has initiated a dispute path — early enough that you still have time to refund or resolve before the chargeback finalizes.
Alerts mapped to the right Shopify order.
Every alert is matched to the underlying order, payment, and customer so your team is not hunting for context — the action is one click from the right record.
Refund, resolve, or escalate before it lands.
When an alert comes in, your team can take the action that makes sense — refund the order, resolve the underlying issue, or let it proceed and hand it to Reclaim.
Protect dispute ratios, not just dollars.
Reducing the count of finalized chargebacks matters for processor and network monitoring — VAMP, dispute ratios, fees. Alerts are built around that, not just recovered revenue.

Alerts, the way we describe it to operators.
How are Alerts different from Reclaim?
Alerts are proactive — they try to keep a dispute from becoming a finalized chargeback at all. Reclaim is reactive — it handles representment after the chargeback has already landed. For many merchants, reducing total chargeback count via Alerts is more valuable than only recovering revenue via Reclaim, because it protects dispute ratios and payment account health.
What does an Alerts workflow look like?
When an early dispute signal comes in, Redo matches it to the right Shopify order, payment, and customer. Your team sees the alert with the relevant context and can refund, resolve, or escalate. If the alert is not resolved in time and a chargeback lands, Reclaim picks it up.
Why focus on dispute ratios?
Beyond the per-case fee, finalized chargebacks affect dispute-ratio programs like Visa's VAMP and Mastercard's monitoring thresholds. A merchant with a strong representment win rate can still get into trouble if the raw count of chargebacks is too high. Alerts are designed to reduce that count.
Is Alerts available today?
Alerts is part of the Redo Chargebacks suite and rolls out through demo and partner programs rather than self-serve install. Tell us about your store and we'll follow up about access and the specific signals supported in your stack.
